The Trust is here to help our members during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. To ensure we are supporting and encouraging our members to seek appropriate care during this unique and challenging time we will be making the following plan enhancements:
- The Trust is waiving copays and deductibles for members requiring FDA-authorized COVID-19 respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, or respiratory tests. This applies to both the test and the related provider visit at in- and out-of-network providers, facilities, and labs. This change is for all plans including the HDHP plans. All other treatments and services including hospitalizations are subject to the usual benefits and cost shares.
- The Trust already provides tele-health visits through Teladoc with a $0 copay on all of our plans, except the HDHP and SGOOP, which are subject to the deductible due to IRS regulations. We are pleased to report that the IRS has issued temporary relief and we can now allow the HDHP and SGOOP plan to have a telehealth visit related to COVID-19 with a $0 cost share. However, to administer this change, members must pay the $45 copay at the time of service, and will be reimbursed by the plan when the monthly file generated by Teledoc is processed by EBMS.
- We will also waive the prescription drug “refill too soon” requirement to allow members an early refill of their prescription medications if they have refills remaining on file at a participating retail or mail-order pharmacy. The refill obtained will stay consistent with the standard days supply previously filled by the member (e.g., 30 or 90-day supply).
We hope you are doing everything recommended by the CDC and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services to help mitigate your risk of this very contagious virus. Should you need assistance with claims processing for COVID-19 services please contact EBMS at (866) 247-1443.
