Important Update About Your Health Plan — Open Enrollment May 4 – 29

This year’s Open Enrollment includes an important update to your health coverage that gives you more flexibility, clearer pricing and added support. While some plan changes may feel new at first, the Public Education Health Trust (PEHT) is here to help you every step of the way.

Open Enrollment runs May 4 – May 29, 2026, for benefits effective July 1, 2026. This is your annual opportunity to review your coverage and make any changes for the coming year.

A Change to How You Experience Care

Beginning July 1, PEHT will transition to a new Open Access medical model, replacing the Aetna Signature Administrators network. EBMS will continue to provide claims and member services.

Open Access gives you more:

  • Affordability – Care is priced at a fair, transparent rate, and claims are reviewed for errors and overcharges.

  • Provider choice – See providers with set prices in the MultiPlan and Partners Direct Health networks — and there’s no change to our established direct contract partnerships, including with Providence. You can also choose to see other providers you trust, and the plan will work to lower your costs.

  • Billing advocacy – No matter which provider you see, EBMS manages provider bill concerns on your behalf so you don’t overpay.

Billing Support Is Built In

If you have questions about a provider bill, a dedicated support team will work directly with the provider on your behalf.

Simply send your bill to bb@imagine360.com, and they’ll handle the follow-up for you so you don’t overpay.

What to Do During Open Enrollment

Log in to miBenefits at www.mibenefits.EBMS.com, click on the “Open Enrollment” tab to review your current coverage and dependent information.

  • Plan to modify covered dependents? To add, you’ll be asked to attach documentation, such as a marriage or birth certificate. To remove, deselect the dependent.
  • Considering changing coverage? Select a different plan design.
  • Currently waived and want to enroll? Contact PEHT to help you access the enrollment system.

Following Open Enrollment, NEW PEHT ID cards will be mailed to your home. You’ll also be able to view or download them on miBenefits.

A Few Additional Updates

  • High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) To maintain IRS compliance, deductibles will increase slightly beginning July 1. The individual deductible will be $1,700, and the family deductible will be $3,400.
  • Dental coverage – We’re transitioning to the Ameritas Dental Network. Share your new PEHT ID card – which will be mailed to you after Open Enrollment and will be on miBenefitswith your dental provider when your coverage becomes effective.

Don’t Miss the Deadline

All Open Enrollment changes must be completed by 4:00 p.m. (AK time) on Friday, May 29, 2026. After that, you can’t make benefit changes unless you have a qualifying life event.

Change can take a little getting used to, but these updates give you more flexibility and support when you need it. Spending a few minutes reviewing your benefits now can make the transition much easier.
